Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. She was born on November 11, 1966. Following her feature film debut with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan is in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Approached by a photographer Doody decided to take up modeling, which turned into a career in commercial modelling. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle that she incorporated into her acting. When she came to the director's attention for a James Bond film, Doody was offered a small role for a small part in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was still only 18 when she made her appearance in the Bond part. As of today she's the newest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying with Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody had an unspoken role in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias during his film of a dream, the 1987 adaptation to The Secret Garden. The Storyteller episode from 1988 featured her in the lead role of Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. Her first appearance was in the movie Taffin alongside Pierce Brosnan. Next, she portrayed Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist, Nazi-sympathizer, and antagonist to Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. Doody was a co-star in the year 1991 alongside Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was in the spirit of a publication scam called The Hitler Diaries. She then moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson's character. Doody then appeared as Flannery Sheen's lover and agent alongside Charlie Sheen, as Major League II came out in 1994. After a long absence from the stage Doody was back in the acting world and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the award ceremony scene. Doody was a co-star, along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Doody was cast in Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Doody was later a guest on RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to star in a 2011 remake of horror classic The Asphyx but the project later stalled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). In November of 2018 she received the Almeria award for best film and was awarded a Star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
