Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler (born September 16, 1971) is an American comedian, actress who is also a writer, producer and director. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and ImprovOlympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group moved to New York City in 1996. In 1998, their sketch comedy show was released on Comedy Central. Along with other comedians in the troupe, Poehler is a founder of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
Poehler joined the cast of Saturday Night Live's 2001 season as a sketch comedy host. She was appointed co-anchor of the show's Weekend Update from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, she played Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation.
